| Camp in central Pamir | [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ] |
A camp in the middle of nowhere. The peaks in the background are located in the central parts of the Trans Alai Range (Pik Lenin area), close to Kurumdy. It's great to be able to pitch a tent anywhere and just enjoy nature in between the climbs!

Riding around with all gear necessary for climbing and just pick a peak you find nice and interesting. | | Posted Dec 3, 2008 3:40 pm |

Hasn't voted | I guess you are a minimalist when climbing. I always carry so much gear with me (especially mountaineering gear takes so much space). Wondering what is it like to bike and carry all the climbing/camping stuff with me.... | | Posted Jul 10, 2009 4:11 am |

Hasn't voted | I think I am a minimalist by most standards. On this photo you can see all I had with me for two 7000m+ peaks. It was enough.
Sometimes, when the peaks are far away from each other I feel a bit stupid with all the mountaineering gear on the bike. That feeling disappears quickly when closer to the peaks and I'm the only one completely independent. Freedom! | | Posted Jul 10, 2009 9:40 am |

Thanks for the photo of your gear. I will open it up before my next big trip and pack accordingly. | | Posted Jul 10, 2009 11:04 pm |
