chute in wolverine cirque [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
chute in wolverine cirque
Entering one of several chutes within the cirque area. That cornice on the left was big and scary. Several chutes in Wolverine were untouched that day, so we had a ball. Not the last time back there.

It's the left hand chute in 46and2's sweet cirque photo.

Thank you. I was looking at the Dolomites, thinking, "Wow, those Italians have some awesome terrain for snowboarding." I also have enjoyed many of your photos. Ciao! Dan

Dolomiti is not the best place in Italy for "backcountry". Valle Aosta, Lombardia, Piemonte and the very nera Switzerland are the best! P

I'm so jealous! What pack is that?

Thanks! Both the wasatch powder that day and the pack are worthy of your jealousy. Though I, too, have been jealous of many of your shots as well!!

This pack is THE best all-around/multi sport pack I've had, ever. It is an REI pack, believe it or not. I'm not sure of the model name. I've overnighted with it, though largely tour, do alpine routes, and crag with it.

Wolverine cirque is sweet. The snow was great, though I can't look at your photo's, Mark, and not have the same "DamnI wish I was there" feeling.

Nice POV. Steep but quick huh? The runout must have been fast!

Very steep, and the snow made it very smooth and moderate. that chute is badass man. If only it was longer. Wolverine is such a great place to do laps though! Have you done the West Couloir on Kessler. Though less steep, it is so much longer than these.
Hey, what's POV?
Take Care.

Sorry, I work for GE... acronyms are a way of life! POV = point of view.

I skinned a mile or so up the Argenta slide once but never up high enough for a coulier run.

The cirque is certainly short but intense. It gets so much wind loading that it is skiable late into the spring season. Have you been up there recently? I'd assume that, even with the killer snow year, the snow is gone.

I haven't been up there since May during the spring cycle, so I was never able to experience the summertime snowpack. I'd guess its gone too. Glad to be in the know as to how to CWYGEG (Converse With You GE Guys). Take Care.

klwagarrrr, Thanks for the thought! I'm jealous of you! I'd appreciate you taking some turns, lines, and face shots for me, 'cause we ain't got shit.' With that said, I'm looking forward to another wonderful Wasatch winter. I'm ready for a renaissance of reconnecting and renouncing the summer fetishes. Some BC photos would perhaps tide me over. eh?
BC, could mean BackCountry, in my lustful world. haha
