Me on the unmaintained trail between the pass and Dick's peak. Snow-covered mountains in the background are the Mokelumne wilderness. On the way up the PCT we met a pair of backpackers and asked them how the view was. "Didn't go up there, we've got to get to Canada" they replied. Damn shame to hike through Desolation and not have time to check out one of its best viewpoints.
