JackKnife Mtn Sunset [ Sizes: Orig | Small | Thumb ]
JackKnife Mtn Sunset
The summit of JackKnife Mountain is silhouetted against the midnight sun, setting over Lake Aleknagik. The Wood River Range is in the distance. Shortly after this I saw a Golden Eagle dive from the summit ridge towards the lake. An awesome site!~July 27, 2005~

Thank you. I was fortunate to be there at the right time. Ofcourse, Alaska sunsets last a bit longer then usual.

You have some incredible photography. It is great to have someone that appreciates GOD'S awesome creation, and gives HIM glory in this way. My favorite part of SP is the incredible photography that is shared.

You give the people who can't do what you do a chance to share the thrill of seeing what Mother Nature has created. Thanks for sharing.

Do you shoot these pic’s with one of those heavy SLR cameras?

Thank you for the compliment:) Actually, I shot this with a simple Nikon Coolpix. I wouldn't know how to use one of those big ones if you gave one to me;) I hope you get a chance to visit this part of Alaska someday. All the best!
