Hasn't voted | No snowshoes. When we got there, the snow was easy walk in. As we got up near Mono Pass, it had accumulated so much, that we were starting to posthole. However, the snow didn't have much water in it at all, making it easy to travel through still...not like our regular "Sierra cement". | | Posted Dec 11, 2006 5:53 pm |

Voted 10/10 | This pic may have been myself suffering up there, I am almost glad that my boss said "NO" when I asked off work for this trip! You two are very brave to try! Great Pic! | | Posted Dec 11, 2006 11:12 pm |

Voted 10/10 | "No wimps allowed" and there was no whining, but there was no summit jubilation either - darn it! | | Posted Dec 11, 2006 11:19 pm |

Hasn't voted | Thanks Blair :) The East Face (our primary plan) would have been a very dangerous place to be based on the winds aloft and the ice that was forming in the smaller gullies. So, going for the north side via Mono Pass was the better option. But looking at the summits of surrounding peaks, we would have been blown off the summit =0 And our original plan of Lamarck would have been worse..... | | Posted Dec 12, 2006 4:32 am |
