Lower Narrows [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Lower Narrows
Lower Narrows has one of the longer sport/trad mixed routes in Grotto Canyon, West Coast Idea-5.10c. At 35 meters, it requires two ropes for the rappel and gear to 3”. Definitely one of the more unique routes of the 250 to choose from. It is to the far right hand side of the Lower Narrows wall as the canyon starts to head north again. The Lower Narrows is across from the Upper Narrows which also features some long routes requiring two ropes. Grotto Canyon

""You cannot stay on the summit forever; you have to come down again. So why bother in the first place? Just this: What is above knows what is below, but what is below does not know what is above. One climbs, one sees. One descends, one sees no longer, but one has seen. There is an art of conducting oneself in the lower regions by the memory of what one saw higher up. When one can no longer see, one can at least still know.""   --Rene Daumal
