jtree at about 10,070' (not recently calibrated) on October 20, 2001. We had come to climb the North Arete but turned around here because we weren't keen on the possibility of descending our ascent route in the dark. After losing the trail we headed west early crossing a boulder field and climbing up a class 3 creek / rock slide. The running water in the route was cold and some of the upper rocks were coated with about 2mm of ice. We found the main trail on the way out which was obvious on the descent, however, it was easy to see how we missed it on the way up. We also built 50' of trail and 3 cairns where the trail became lost in the rock just above this clearing.
