Cooney Lake [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Cooney Lake
Our first night's camp here was a nice, but cold one. After a good ten hour night's sleep for me, due to lack of sleep on the long drive the night before, I woke up and snapped a photo of the sunrise. The snow crystals sparkled so brightly! The morning sun was good to feel, heating up our colder parts, like hands or fingers. I regularly face my tent to the direction of the morning sun, as it feels so good, to me. Then, sometimes, it's worth a good photo, too. April 8, 1979

"We have nothing against the practice slopes and the standard runs, but if that's all you know, you've missed something special; something lost beyond the ranges, a glistening new white world with its hard edges covered over for the winter, and you its discoverer."   --Dave Brower
