Allen Mountain, Glacier National Park [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Allen Mountain, Glacier National Park
The GMS group begins the descent down Allen Mountain's talus coated north face. The descent is a direct line that contours down to stay high above thick vegetation until an avalanche chute is encountered. Ultimately thick vegetation must be navigated before intercepting a large horse trail near the lakes below. Grinnell Point is in the foreground. Mount Webster, Ishapa and Merritt are on the horizon. Glacier National Park, Summer 2006.
