Boedensee (2586m) is a rather remote lake, though there is Neue Reichenberger hut at its shore. 4 h walk is the shortest route either from Virgental valley or Defereggental valley - too much for most families for a summer daytrip. A calm place here where Lasoerling ridge and Panaragen ridge meet. The Lasoerling hiking trail passes the hut. In the background are main mountains of the Panargen ridge subgroup with Alplesspitze (3149m) on the left and Keeseck (3173m) on the right. (August 1983 - but nothing has changed here in the meantime)
