Hunt Spur-The line of First Ascent [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Hunt Spur-The line of First Ascent
Charles Turner Jr.approached "Catardin" from the South West via this spur during the first ascent in August 1804. The position of this route is best savored from the Owl(current view) or the lakes to the south but such previews probably don't happen for most Appalachian Trail Thru-hikers. One can amuse the inner climber on some fine boulders here.
