Elk Peak is one the Sawtooth's most impressive mountains. The easiest way to the summit is a Class 3-4 scramble with a very long approach. COnsequently, the summit sees few visitors. The views of Elk Peak are impressive from all directions, and the view from the Alpen approach is no exception.
