Emptiness
Most part of the Syrian desert isn't a sand desert like the Sahara or Taklamakan. That was fortunate for us as we could cycle quite good on the surface.
Total emptiness and nothing to see for days.

My hat's off to you. Think you are the ENVY of everybody here on Summitpost. You would love Arizona; we have a VAST desert, here. It's not as much sand as it is DESOLATION. Take care & good luck!

Yes, I travel a lot. As soon as I have some ash I tend to take off for some interesting area.
