Myself and Calvin Kilcrease heading up the next to last pitch. K. Chaltikian belaying from the tree just above us. Calvin led the first pitch, and KC led the next 2.5.

That pitch felt like WI4- to WI4 in those conditions. I had snow on my glasses, could hardly see anything. KC found his goggles useless and led the pitch without them !

Well done, Rob! I got myself spanked at that left flow on Chouinard Falls on Sunday 1/28/07. I was spent. Had to create a 3-ice screw hanging belay just like 15 feet away from the bolted/chained anchor...this anchor was occupied, anyway. Took me forever to lead it, too. Don't know what happened. Some days one just doesn't have it.

Dude, that's what you get for having too many beers the night before :)

Seriously though - me and Calvin were pretty toasted by the end of this pitch (Calvin is normally a strong climber but was getting over a cold). KC was in fine form, as usual. He makes everything look easy.

Hope you enjoy the ice next weekend. I'm heading to Cody then ... probably will be getting my butt kicked !

It can get crowded, but it's also quite wide. Ratings vary from WI3+ to about WI4+, and there also some mixed lines, to about M4-M5 I believe. There is some more detailed route info here.
