Thanks,we were just tiptoing on the edge. The center of the wall has lots of stuff much harder and much undone. There is a big ice climb called Black Fly here.

Sorry to miss your message. The maine things that I know are the diamonds right above Chimney pond. Sort of 350 feet high. Probably goes to 5.10-11 though you can find much easier.

The four ridges to Pamola- hence the name. The Armadillo Buttress- the one people are are after. 5.8

Its neighbor to the right a handcrack, The Flat Iron 5.9, The north basin The Nose (left edge) and the Middle stuff which is the serious stuff. The Ranger at Chimney Pond used to have some written descriptions. Rick Wilcox' Book New England Ice has the Ice stuff including the Cilley-Barber which is left of the Armadillo and Black Fly-North Basin which is probably the most serious Ice route. I Noted the 850 (computer sez) mile trip between Portalnd and the Exum. Have fun.

Thanks!

...yeah, the 850 mile thing kind of turns us off a bit for a 3-day weekend. Probably would not be so bad except we've done the Sawtooths drive (580 miles) a week ago and the thought of driving the exciting I84 (western spur) from portland thru. twin falls, ID and beyond AGAIN...kind of makes me wanna upchuck!

This actually gives me an idea for the "Prate and Prattle" discussion board...
