I just have to give this a good vote. Most people don't realize how hard Utah sandstone can be. The "runout" especially hits home. I'm not a rock climber, but have been a rock slider.

Yeah, Todd Goss said to take gear, but there was nothing worth placing, I just ran it out. I did back down after staring down the crux of that first pitch and change into my better climbing shoes.
