American Border Peak and Her Neighbors [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
American Border Peak and Her Neighbors

It was difficult to decide which page to attach this image to since several prominent peaks are shown here and it was taken from a distant ridge unassociated with other areas on summitpost. I chose the American Border Peak page although the photo was taken 'several' miles from that peak. I could have associated it to Mount Larrabee with the same rational.

This is the view north from the Skyline Divide trail, a relatively easy trail on an arm leading from Mount Baker. As far as peaks go, I'm pretty certain about the ones listed. I consulted Beckey's book on the Cheam Range peaks and the sketch in the book almost mirrors what is shown in the photo. So much so, it feels like I'm cheating. But I'll just consider this an open book test.

There are two prominent peaks I am currently uncertain of, including (a) the rounded peak standing alone to the left; and (b) the peak I've labeled Tomyhoi.

On the latter, It's not clear to me what else it could be from looking at maps. But it doesn't resemble a number of other photos of Tomyhoi on summitpost.org. Nonetheless, I'll leave it labeled as such for now.

On the former, I suspect it is in B.C. and I don't have any topo maps of the area.

Well, I think it might be behind (to the north of) the unidentified peak in front of American Border Peak. But I could be wrong.

...and, oh yeah, thanks for the vote....
