The true summit of Blacksmith Peak. The summit register is located at the bottom of this pinnacle, the Northwest Pinnacle, and is just visible in the shadows at the base of the pinnacle. September 6, 2003

As of Oct, 2006 the register has been relocated to the lower SE summit.

Thanks for the info Bob. Did you find the register in that location, or did you move it there? Did you scramble up to the high point?

That's where we found it.

Yes, we did make it to the higher summit. Glenn and I soloed it via a variation slightly different from the standard route up the narrow chimney. I'd rate it as easy class 5, certainly not 5.6. There are some pics showing it here
