Terrible Isolation and Lonliness at the Summit [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Terrible Isolation and Lonliness at the Summit
Posted only to show the Sunday-in-the-park scene at the Summit. Mike in the baseball cap. The little girl in the foreground was running about the snowfield inviting all comers to a snowball fight. When she and her father set out to return, she ran across the crater. Future hardcore SPer?

BobInPasadenaSouth Sister popularity ...

When I climbed South Sister in August 2008 on a Saturday ... I estimate I passed about 400-500 hikers during my round trip to the summit ... it was mind boggling.

Yeah, kind of like that, only 4- to 500 passed me. Very good-natured and well behaved though.
