Summit Ridge [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Summit Ridge
Rusty has just passed the tricky, exposed section of the summit ridge. Many parties use running pro here, some belay across. We had decent snow conditions, so that was not necessary. March 03, 2007, White Princess, East Alaska Range.

nope, crevasses. rope + no pro = protection from the small crevasse falls we expected and encountered. I agree with you sometimes, other times crevasse falls are more of a worry than long sliders or whippers. the lip on crevasses seems to provide enough friction to make pro unnecessary. oh, you were probably reading the caption- we were unroped for the knife edge
