Palmer's Penstemon [ Sizes: Orig | Small | Thumb ]
Palmer's Penstemon
Penstemon Palmeri,
a spring wildflower named after Edward Palmer (1829 - 1911),
a self-taught British botanist who spent most of his life in the USA.
This flower is also often called Scented Beardtongue and grows at elevations between 4000-6000 feet (1200-1800 m).

Photographed in the Nevada desert on route to the Spring Mountains.
Snow-capped Charleston Peak is visible in the background.
