This is the ridge that the Jewell trail follows on the north side of Burt Ravine, seen from the eastern endpoint of the Jewell trail. The trail does not follow the whole length of the above-treeline area, it emerges from the trees on the north (viewer's right) of the crest not far below where the four hikers are standing. It actually climbs up the south side of the ridge, but switches to the north side while still in the trees.
