Campsite at Cooper Gap [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Campsite at Cooper Gap
Cooper Gap is just north of Sassafras Mountain. We were going to camp on Sassafras but due to a thunderstorm decided to stay on lower ground instead. AT, northern Georgia, May 2006

BobSmithNice campsite!

Voted 10/10

Georgia is the only state where I've hiked all of the AT within its borders.

Thanks :) I was really impressed with the beauty of northern Georgia. I'd love to go back and do more of the AT there or a little further north...

"I am in love with this world. I have nestled lovingly in it. I have climbed its mountains, roamed its forests, sailed its waters, crossed its deserts, felt the sting of its frosts, the oppression of its heats, the drench of its rains, the fury of its winds, and always have beauty and joy waited upon my goings and comings."   --John Burroughs
