Royal looks all-knowing. Confident. Would like to know more about your project to photograph these mountaineering legends. I agree with Corax. SP members would enjoy an article. These B & W portraits are incredible.

This series is really great, thanks for sharing!
I know most of them by name (even as European), and it's fantastic to see them now on such great portraits!
To you US guys Robbins may be of other importance, but to me he is THE guy who did the Directe Americaine at Petit Dru, a legendary route in the Mont Blanc massif.
