Basicly my search for a new desktop background on my server made me look over the patagonia pictures I took this new year. I decided to pick this image and because I didn´t upload it to SP before, I performed that, too.
Nice to get so much good feedback.

Nikmansurprising votes

The rating-system has always new surprises for me.
I posted ...

"Cerro Paine Grande" (left under clouds) and "Los Cuernos del Paine" (to the right)

and

Paine Grande + Los Cuernos

which are wide screens taken just a few meters next to this one.
I thought they are the better ones, but they didn´t get to many votes.

I don't understand the rating system either.
I'm too busy admiring your wonderful pictures.

I guess the voting sometimes only developes if an image gets a good start.
Some images of good quality don't get that good start by chance and get burried inbetween the masses of other images.

Brillant deduction ... I think you're right!
A lot of them get buried! I know this is a
site mainly for mountains, but it helps if
you take several photos of a particular RANGE,
and then post them all at the same time. You
can also put together a trip report, which I
haven't done yet for various reasons. The
"digital age" is kicking me in the butt!!!
