This was what we considered... [ Sizes: Orig | Small | Thumb ]
This was what we considered...
This was what we considered our 4th belayed pitch. Sergio Verdina leads the low-5th steep gully. It leads up around the corner to the right, up a short chimney, and on to a nice, sandy belay platform. The next (5th) pitch was the crux for us (I would rate it 5.9 free or 5.7, A0 but that's me). Sergio complained that I was getting all the interesting leads. Meanwhile, Chris of the other twosome was trying an improbable lichen-covered off-width crack. He soon rapped off that bad boy and came up our gully behind us. Photo taken Sept. 6, 2003.

Yes, SE Buttress. Our route was just one of a number of possibilities. The chimney is the deep, shaded on in this image.
