A contouring route traverses...
A contouring route traverses the northeast face of Sunshine Peak, seen here, allowing climbers to bypass the summit on the descent toward Mill Creek. The single track, seldom used route drops slightly as it crosses the slope and is barely perceptable on the left, where it joins the east ridge. This shortcut starts at a light colored flat area on Sunshine's northwest ridge, and traverses amazingly stable talus in quick order. Summer, 2003.
