CRITICAL MILL CREEK ROUTE... [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
 CRITICAL MILL CREEK ROUTE...
CRITICAL MILL CREEK ROUTE DESCENT POINT

As you descend toward timberline from Sunshine Peak's broad east ridge, be sure to aim between these two tree clusters (underlined) pictured here. This must be done if you wish to retrace your cairned route back to the obscure Mill Creek trailhead. Going north or south of this route could result in cliffing out and encountering other unknown perils on Sunshine's expansive south and east slopes. Summer, 2003.

I descended this route after ascending from Silver Creek, and would have been completely lost if not for having seen this picture before my first trip. This is probably the most useful picture to me that I have ever encountered here. Thanks!

Thanks, Sam. Glad it worked for you. It would be easy to get lost on this route and end up in tricky terrain. When I added my special touches, I thought, "well, I sure f+#ked that up!" Nice to know such efforts do matter.
