Voted 10/10 | I hope your edges were sharp enough for the descent! Great shot. | | Posted Apr 7, 2007 1:37 pm |

Hasn't voted | Thanks! Actually the descent was a lot easier on the back side, something I, sadly, required. | | Posted Apr 10, 2007 3:15 am |

Voted 10/10 | When I see pictures like yours it makes me realize how much more experience I need in order to have pictures of my own like yours. Great inspiration. | | Posted Apr 7, 2007 5:51 pm |

Hasn't voted | Thank'ee Brad. Yep, we felt it. Fortunately (or unfortunately) some clouds came in and allowed us to feel cozied and safe for a while :-D. | | Posted Apr 16, 2007 5:01 pm |

 | | Klenke | Level? | |
Voted 10/10 | I have a sneaky suspicion the photo isn't level and makes the ice look steeper than it is (the background rock outcrop doesn't look right, for instance).
Must resist temptation to vote 9 instead of 10. :-) | | Posted Apr 10, 2007 12:24 pm |

Hasn't voted | The wall is 50° and 250m high and one of the more popular beginner ice/neve routes, but when it is ice (like here) 50° can feel dicey. Looks OKish to me.

Voted 10/10 | Looking at the way stuff is hanging off his harness, the pic looks reasonably level to me... | | Posted Apr 10, 2007 1:03 pm |

Hasn't voted | Huh, well I never! I used two hands and was leaning back comfortably on my belay, so for what it's worth, it's at least as level as any other picture I'd take from a comfortable position. I measured the angle as well by making a triangle, and it came up as 51.2 degrees. So judging by the advertised angle of the climb, I decree a margin of error of 1.2 degrees :-). | | Posted Apr 10, 2007 1:28 pm |

Voted 10/10 | You've been trolled. Ha ha ha!
The only other proof shot I could find was this one

The rock outrcop at bottom right is the same one as in your photo and the snow hump on the mountain fall line directly behind it is also the same (this snow hump has a little thumb of rock to its left in your photo). I note that the image sourced above is level for sure.
This photo also shows the hump I'm talking about at dead center. | | Posted Apr 10, 2007 1:56 pm |
