North Ghost [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
North Ghost
What happens when you just get too cocky with your FJ. (Devil's Gap in the background) Was just down here 2 days prior on the same path (not really much roads) to the north ghost, and took the wrong turn into a ditch covered by this drift. A shovel and potential sleeping gear are a must in the Ghost. Tons of horror stories to go around including losing vehicles to the river. Beowulf, III, WI 4, North Ghost, March, 2007.

As long as you get stuck in the right places.
At least it's not the fast lane.

A real handy tool for digging out a high centered rig is a garden hoe. I have been carrying one in the rocket box for the last couple of years, and it makes digging around the differentials and frame members a lot easier. Great route page, and photos by the way!

cool, thanks Tim, great idea....makes a lot of sense, grew up on a farm and got stuck all the time and nobody every thought of that vs shovels....much easier on the back

Good Dan, it is my favorite 4x4 to date. I own a jeep as well. Recommend it over the jeep for sure.

""You cannot stay on the summit forever; you have to come down again. So why bother in the first place? Just this: What is above knows what is below, but what is below does not know what is above. One climbs, one sees. One descends, one sees no longer, but one has seen. There is an art of conducting oneself in the lower regions by the memory of what one saw higher up. When one can no longer see, one can at least still know.""   --Rene Daumal
