You are right. Globeflower was wrong. It is a Primrose.

Hasn't voted | John: My research on this wildflower is coming up with: White Evening Primrose.

Voted 10/10 | Sarah,
You are correct it is a Primrose. It's leaves are kind of distinctive. I was wrong with the Globeflower identification. Thanks.

Hasn't voted | Thanks, Jon. I'm always amazed at alpine wild flowers growing where, at first glance, there seems to be no water or nutrients. My husband and I own a cabin on 2 acres not far from the Tarryall Reservoir, so these are our weekend stomping grounds. We find great peace in this area. | | Posted Jun 18, 2007 11:28 am |

Voted 10/10 | Reminds me of flowers in Death Valley. The delicate beauty growing out of rugged desolation. | | Posted Feb 16, 2009 12:36 pm |

Hasn't voted | Thanks for the commentary. It is that exact contrast that caused this image to catch my eye!
