Leading my first aid route [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Leading my first aid route
Climbing with HJMC and Dragger, they coached me up my frist aid lead. C1 on Church Bowl Tree, then we free climbed it on top rope (10a).

Notice Carolyn (who is belaying me) is having an intimate encounter with a cracker just as the picture was taken.

her hands were on the rope! Looking down and seeing you aren't really on belay is enough to give one bad dreams..

the look of a "mad scientist" at work...are you positive your belayer is not taking a nap?

Looks like the belayer is looking for the dropped cookie or cracker under his arm!

Thanks Rob. I like aid - it was great to free climb this route (on toprope) after leading it on aid. Then Sunday, it snowed and all we did was eat at Curry and go home.

Who needs a belay for aid anyway? That's what good placement is for. :/

I should note, if you look carefully one of Carolyn's hands is on the rope. The other one is searching for the cracker that just fell. It's sort of funny...

HJMC set up a fixed line and jugged up to get these shots. Thanks for a great weekend guys.

Intimate encounter with a cracker? Not unless a boob is called cracker these days! HA! And yes, Jennie is definitely a mad scientist -- you can tell from the expression on her face. ;^)

was this pic taken? Was Craig hanging from a rope on the anchors? Fun lead, huh (also my first aid lead placing pro)? Nice pic.

Craig was on a fixed line, Carolyn had just lead and set up a rope for Craig to jumar up and coach me. Super reassuring, plus great pics.

Sorry it took me so long to respond, I was offline for quite a while!

:)
