R.I.P. (5.6)-- Lower Section [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
R.I.P. (5.6)-- Lower Section
The lower, and harder, section of the climb. The rock on that portion is extremely slippery because it has been polished by the Potomac River for God only knows how many thousands or millions of years. Because the rock is so slick and because the river is so close to the base of the route, the only reasonable way to descend to the base under most conditions is to rappell down.
