Wow, that's a lot of red! Best time of the year.

Much of that was gone just a few days later when we went through there. The reds that remained were pretty dull compared to the reds in this nice pic.

....very sad! winter is coming. You can smell it in the mountain air. Depressing!

Ispired by Dean's and Brian's photos, we're off to the Wallowas this weekend - grab good weather weekends while we still have some.

Have agreat trip. Are you planning to do Red Mtn or Sacajawea? Matterhorn? Eagle Cap? Lots to choose from down there. Good luck on the weather. I'm heading to the Enchantments hoping for enough sun to get some decent Larch pictures.

Yup, summer is gone. sigh....

Enjoy the beauty of the Enchantments - look forward to checking out the photos!

Hey great, if you do Red, that'll mean some neat pictures will get posted and another summit log report. Maybe we can get this peak some attention. Here is some more info on this one (cohp.org source)

Have fun.

Thanks for the link Dean. Hmmm, interesting - seems that a few of the Cascade "big ones" serve as the higpoint of two counties. Guess the county lines run along the Cascade crest. Very interesting list....got a few of those done already and more planned (even though thus far county highpointing we've done has been incidental). Definitley a cool activity.

Think we're going to head for Red indeed and do it as an overnight backpack. Don't know about these "good" photos - I'm like a chimp who just points and clicks over and over again. Once in a while if I take enough, a handful will turn out to be viewable.

Enjoy the Enchantments!
