Baby Marmot [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Baby Marmot
A group of Yellow-Bellied Marmots live near the end of the roadway to our house. Upon returning from a morning trip to find a trailhead, this is the scene which greeted me.

The baby marmot reaching to touch his mother's face was just too cute for words - only a picture could tell the story. Take a look at the "original" size photo to get a really good look.

Thanks for the compliment, Peter. You must be a photographer; otherwise it’s unlikely you would recognize my use of DOF. I was shooting with a Nikkor 300mm F4 (wide open) mounted on a Nikon D80 (effective 450mm) when I got this frame.
