Echo Canyon [ Sizes: Orig | Small | Thumb ]
Echo Canyon
Here I am in Echo Canyon. May 19 2007. The canyon was supposed to be fairly technical, but was not. We did all the pitches without using the long ropes we brought. Danny Logan took photo from our trip.

It was pretty wet when I went through with Shane Burrows and Bo. Nice to see a close up of you. :)

Yes, it was pretty dry. Only a few pools. Pine Creek was dry save one short pool too.

I actually like to go in the canyons when they are dry. It's easier to take photos and I don't have to swim in gross, dirty water, but usually there is just not a choice. I went in Echo once with my husband and son (then 3) when it was dry, but we just entered from the opening along the Observation Point Trail. It was just an easy hike until we ran into a pool that finally stopped us. We did quite a bit in there though before we came to an end. The 3 year old was a trooper hiking up that trail. I just had to keep his mind on lizards and such so he did not run out of gas hiking! At the end we went to Bit n' Spur and he got a giant ice cream creation!
These are awful photos, some of my first, and small but it shows how dry it was in there.
