Shirley working the crux face... [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Shirley working the crux face...
Shirley working the crux face traverse moves of the SW Face Route. This traverse is equally scary (but short) for both leader and follower - esp. for follower who's lugging a heavy backpack (pitch two, Oct. 4, 2003).

Nice series of photos for this route on NEWS Radek. Thanks for posting them. Are you going to do a route report as well?

Thanks Martin.

I thought about it but looking at Fred's NEWS page seems like he has the routes listed on the main page. I'd have to ask him about the best way to add that info. - I'd prefer not to "break format". I've kind of described the route in the caption for one of the overview shots. I'll post the question to Fred and see what he says.

Radek, the summary on Fred's page is no route guide. It is just a general idea on the route. A new user to this site would not know to look at the descriptions on the photos for route beta. I think route report pages with pitch by pitch descriptions are important to make a page really useful.

When you get a chance, it would be nice to see.

Cheers,

Martin

Martin,

I agree with you. I asked Fred what his preferred way to add this info. in would be. I'll add it in as soon as he posts an answer. Are you thinking of heading out there this season? I know it was pretty snowy a week ago - wonder how it's looking now?

Thinking about trying an ascent in late April after coming up the difficult Early Winters Couloir. Looks like a lot of fun.

Almost all - take a look at his profile page for what he left.

But, he continues to lurk about - sometimes as BHB, and now with a new identity - joe failure Recognize the photo?

Hi Radek. I was just wondering if you had a chance to put the route guide together yet.
