...the summit ridge of Bloody Mtn. Red rock, snow built up on one side, but alas, there were no trees. Nice shot.

Thanks Deb, this is the only mountain in the range that is well above timberline. It is very windy, no trees, and snow lasts into early summer.

DeanCattle country

We did this hike from Davis Basin on Tuesday and found cattle everywhere except the last mile. Definitely cattle country. All that was missing were the cowboys. Still, the summit ridge was neat and the views expansive.

My favorite part about Oxford Peak is the great views. The cattle are only there seasonally during the summer months. I climbed the mountain in late spring and didn't see any cows.

I had a similiar experience when I climbed Cache and Independence in the Albion Range. A herd of cows tried to run us over so we had to hurry as fast as possible down the trail.
