Failed Ascent of Elk Mountain [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Failed Ascent of Elk Mountain

After scrambling almost all the way to the top of Elk Mountain in Charon's Garden Wilderness, OK, the youth were stymied by a 40-foot, featureless wall of granite. Unable to find a way around it without technical gear (which they hadn't brought), they elected to descend a nearby wash. Imaged by Daniel in June 2007.
