These flowers are abundant on top of Ingolfsfjall, and elsewhere in Iceland.

Hat tip to ochoco for identification as Moss campion (Silene acaulis).

An internet search for other pictures confirms that you nailed this on the head. It's a Moss campion (Silene acaulis), and they are all over the place in Iceland.
