I took a photo from almost exactly this same spot in October 1968 after a similar snow storm.

Of course, at that time there was no building in the Amphitheater or anywhere along the walk up the khola above Ghandrung. We were a group of American Peace Corps volunteers and we were hoping to climb Hiun Chuli. We were unsuccessful that year, but only a couple of years later some of our group did succeed in the first climb of that himal.
