Nature has blessed Pakistan with unique landscape, the high mountains, plateau plains, and the luring sunny beaches are found here. However, more than fifty persent of its area is mountainous, particularly its Northen Areas, which posses the most facinating mountains on earth.Northern Areas of Pakistan is endowed with most unique geographical feature in the world. Its is here thatthree great, lofty, and spectacular mountain ranges, Karakoram, Hindukush and Himalays meet. In an area of about 500 Kms in width and 350 Kms in depth, is found the most dense collection of the highest and precipitous peaks in the world, bosting more than 700 peaks above 6000 meters and more than 160 peaks above 7000 meters. These include five our of the total 14 above 8000 meter peaks on earth, namely the second highest rock pyramid, the K2 (8611m), Nanga Parbat (8125m), the Hidden Peak, gasherbrum-I(8068m), the Broad Peak (8051-m), and the Gasherbrum-II (8035m). This enormous mountain wealth makes Pakistan an important mountain country offering great opportunities for mountaineering and mountain related adventure activities.
Beside high mountains, these ranges are inhabited bt the longest glaciers outside polar regions, enchanting and captivating valleys, like, Skardu, Khaplu, Shigar, Gilgit and Hunza.
