Portrait of a Wild Mustang [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Portrait of a Wild Mustang
This was one of the nine wild horses that we saw grazing
near the mouth of North Canyon on route to McFarland Peak.

A lot of the wild horses have been relocated, but we were happy to see that there were still some left. One of them was very young. Enjoy my slideshow of the whole hike:
McFarland Peak via North Canyon on July 1, 2007

Spring Mountains, Nevada.

Thank you. Yes, he was very beautiful. I have been charged by a wild horse before, so when he started heading right at me I slowly backed out and he stopped then too. They are used to seeing people, but you never really know how they will react.
