Twin NE snow chutes - a possible route? [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Twin NE snow chutes - a possible route?
The twin chutes of the NW face of the peak, visible e.g. in this pictue, are still largely snow-filled even in this low-snow season. The one on skiers' right is in a more sorry state, with a couple hundred ft of scree just below the ridge. The main (skiers' left) chute has a band of snow going pretty much all the way, but this chute does noty intersect the ridgeline directly. This picture shows mixed terrain of the North headwall for the future reference. (The V-shaped sliver of snow is the uppermost part of this coloir)
