Hummingbird feeding on nectar [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Hummingbird feeding on nectar
This is a female Broad-tailed Hummingbird (Selasphorus platycercus)

I took this photo on the summit of Griffith Peak on July 7, 2007.
I saw a number of hummingbirds up there that day. There were all competing over nectar of thistle and paintbrush blossoms.

Spring Mountains, Nevada.
