Baron Lake Sunrise [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Baron Lake Sunrise
Morning view from the east side of Baron Lake, with the stunning Monte Verita Ridge complex on the left, Cirque Lake Peak near the center, and Big Baron Spire on the right. It was arguably the most spectacular view I've ever experienced. This shot is authentic, the only electronic manipulation was the stitching together of four photos to make this 120 degree panorama. Thanks. Got in there to see some awesome scenery over the weekend. Redfish inlet to Baron Lakes on day one, over to Stephens Lakes on day two, then bushwhacked down Fishhook Creek back to Redfish on the last day. It was a great trip.

Thanks. And to think this happens there almost every morning, with only the deer and pikas around to see it...

Great shot Dave! That's so spectacular there and Baron Spire (Old Smoothie) is the El Capitan of the Sawtooth Range in terms of length (10-18 pitches) and difficulty (5.9 A1). Glad you were able to get out there.

Thanks Sean. It was an excellent weekend. I was looking at a couple of your photos of Baron Spire after the trip, and now I'm wanting to go back check out those lakes on the west side too. So much scenery, so little time...

One of those places you would give anything to get to spend a day there.
