Three Queens Lake (5,370 ft)...

Three Queens Lake (5,370 ft) on June 21, 1998 on my first attempt at this peak. What you can't see in this photo is the pea-sized hail that's falling. The weather hadn't been looking too good for over an hour. As the shower started I tried to take shelter under a tree on the ridgeline, but when I saw a lightning bolt come from the clear sky direction (in the direction of my car), I beat a quick retreat. As I hied along in the torrential downpour, I passed within 5 feet of a deer and its bambi. They were as unconcerned with me at that moment as I of them. They fleyed not. I could have pet them as I went by.
