Rock Columbines [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Rock Columbines
You will see these Rock Columbines (Aquilegia scopulorum) in the upper sections of the South Loop trail above treeline. They come in a variety of colors ( white, pink, yellow and purple), but the purple ones are the most common.

I took this photo in July 2007 along the South Loop trail on the way back from Charleston Peak.
Spring Mountains, Nevada.
