Lake and Melting Snow [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Lake and Melting Snow
To the east of Hoyt Peak's summit is a beautiful cirque. In spite of the high-heat conditions this year (2007), some of the snow fields which don't receive huge amounts of direct sun had not yet disappeared. This small lake formed at the foot of the snow field and was impounded by the rocky remains pushed up by the toe of a long-vanished glacier.
