Voted 10/10 | Did you do Mera and Island as well? What was your impression of Amphu Labsa? | | Posted Jul 22, 2007 1:24 pm |

Hasn't voted | Yes, we were fortunate enough to make the summit of both on the same trip.
For me Amphu Labsa was the most difficult of the three. I think it shouldn't be taken lightly. My advice: start really early, before the sun's rays start to melt the ice above.
On the northern side we only rappeled one length of rope, and from other people's photos I think we chose a different direction to do so. | | Posted Jul 22, 2007 1:34 pm |

Hasn't voted | It is a very rewarding trip, I bet you will enjoy yourself!
If you go anti-clockwise from Lukla (i.e. Hinku, Mera, Hongu, Amphu Labsa, Imja Tse) you might get some 'culture shock' at Chukung, meeting all those people after several weeks of peace... But I see you have already been to Nepal.
Let me know if you need any more info. Nelson is also very helpful - he was a goldmine of information for me 2 years ago. | | Posted Jul 22, 2007 6:50 pm |
